Let’s have a quick look at the compositional rules. When to use them but also even important when it’s opportune to break them. Don’t look at them as strict rules, but as guidelines that help you to order all elements within the scene. Sometimes you just might want to break these ‘rules’ to increase the power of the story you want to tell.
A picture is always confined within the walls of its frame and you as a photographer have the power to organize all elements within this frame. For me the background, the foreground and the supporting subjects are equally important as the flowers themselves. Many starting photographers tend to focus only on the main subject. In our case the flowers and they disregard other elements within the frame. But by doing so they mis a big opportunity to fine-tune their images and to tell the whole story. To achieve good composition you really have to see the whole picture.
